Comprehensive Review of USMLE - Update

Three organizations (ECFMG, FSMB, and NBME)have recently endorsed the USMLE Composite Committee’s recommendation to revise the USMLE. This multi-year process will begin this fall 2009 and will emphasize three main areas:

• The assessment of examinees’ preparedness for supervised and unsupervised practice;
• The overall design, development, and scoring of USMLE;
• The scientific foundations of medicine in all parts of the assessment process.
